Seth Godin has a new book out titled, "Tribes." He is the author of two best sellers, "Purple Cow" and "The Dip." In "Tribes" he writes about how people come together around a common interest, a common passion and a leader who binds those two together.

It seems to me that Human Capital Source supporters have formed a tribe. This tribe is the continuation of one that was launched at Saratoga Institute in 1980. Over the decades a growing number of human resource (common interest) people have become passionate about metrics. When I sold SI and retired to start HCS in 2003 most of those people packed their tents and joined us here. Now SI has pretty much disappeared inside PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

As of today we have identified a couple thousand members of the metrics tribe.
