In his autobiography Walter Cronkite made a statement that I have seen confirmed so many times. It is amazing that, “Our willingness to be ignorant knows no bounds.” There is a new book out titled Thinking, Fast and Slow in which the author notes that people seem to prefer to see something and react to it (Fast) rather than spend a few minutes deliberating and trying to understand what they have just seen (Slow). As the king of Siam said in Anna and the King of Siam, “It is a puzzlement.”
