Dr. Jac FitzenzDr. Jac , as he is known worldwide, is acknowledged as the father of human capital strategic analysis and measurement. During the 1970s he carried out original research which led to the first human resources metrics in 1978. As founder of the Saratoga Institute in 1980, he developed the first international HR benchmarking service, eventually covering 2,000 companies in a dozen countries. Recently, he was cited as one of the fifty persons in the past fifty years who have significantly changed what HR does and how it does it.

In 2007 he formed the Predictive Initiative, a group of 12 organizations and several thought leaders to develop a new model for human capital management. In October 2008 the Predictive Management system was launched. This is the first HR and human capital management system based on predictive analytics.

Dr. Fitz-enz has published 11 books and over 290 articles, reports and book chapters on measurement and strategic management. His 12th book, Fast Forward, currently in press details the predictive management system. Dr. Jac’s books have been translated into Chinese, German, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Turkish. He is a two-time winner of the SHRM Book of the Year Award for Human Value Management (1991) and The ROI of Human Capital (2001). His monthly column, Leading Edge, appears in Talent Management journal.

He has trained more than 85,000 managers in 45 countries. Although his work is widely imitated, he remains. The Source for human capital strategy, measurement and analytics.

In 2002, Dr. Fitz-enz retired from Saratoga Institute, and in 2003 launched Human Capital Source to take human capital valuation to the next level. His latest research applies workforce analytics to integrating all HR functions from workforce planning to retention and outsourcing.

Prior to founding Saratoga Institute Dr. Fitz-enz held human resource vice presidential positions at Wells Fargo Bank, Imperial Bank and Motorola Computer Systems. He holds degrees from: Notre Dame (B.A), San Francisco State (M.A.), and USC (Ph.D) in organizational communications.
